Dinner cruise in Zwolle
Combining cruising and dining sounds simpler than it is. The difference lies in whether the food comes to the boat or the boat goes to the food.
- Group
- 10 to 30 people
- Duration
- 2 to 4 hours
- Format
- On board or at a restaurant
- From
- € 52,50 p.p.

There are two ways to set up a dinner cruise, and they differ considerably in price, in time and in what is practically required. Eating on board is simpler and cheaper. Mooring at a restaurant gives more choice of menu, but costs cruising time and requires coordination with the restaurant.
For most groups, eating on board is the better choice. Fresh pizzas on board cost € 52,50 per person for an hour and a half, unlimited drinks included. Nothing to reserve, nothing to coordinate and nobody has to leave the boat.
If you want a more elaborate dinner, combining the cruise with a waterside venue is possible. That calls for a trip of three hours or more, and for agreeing mooring times and availability in advance.
Eating on board or mooring: the difference
Pizzas on board
The simplest format. Fresh pizzas come on board, everyone eats seated and the drinks are unlimited. An hour and a half will do; two hours is more comfortable. No reservations, no mooring times, no dependence on a restaurant kitchen.
Luxury sharing platter as a meal
For groups that prefer grazing to a plate in front of them. Works well when drinks need to fill the evening, and keeps people moving between conversations.
Walking dinner or buffet on board
Possible by arrangement through private boat rental with your own caterer. Bear in mind there is no kitchen on board, so everything must arrive cold or kept warm.
Dinner at a waterside restaurant
The boat moors, the group dines ashore and cruises back afterwards. Gives the widest choice of menu, but takes at least an hour and a half ashore plus the cruising time. Allow three to four hours in total and agree the mooring times well in advance.
The logistics of mooring at a restaurant
Not every restaurant in Zwolle can be reached from the water. The venue has to sit on the water and there has to be a usable mooring spot. Tell us in your enquiry which venue you have in mind, and we'll let you know beforehand whether it is feasible.
The kitchen needs a time. For a group of twenty or thirty, a restaurant wants to know when you are arriving, and that time has to be met. On the water, half an hour's leeway is normal, so plan generously.
Book the restaurant yourself. We take care of the cruise and the mooring moments; you make the restaurant arrangements directly. Do pass on the final times, and we'll match the route to them.
Getting on and off takes time. Thirty people off the boat and back on again later is twice ten minutes. Count that into the schedule.
To pass on in advance
Allergies and dietary requirements. Pass them on no later than a week in advance, and we'll take them into account with the pizzas or the sharing platter. On the day itself it can no longer be solved.
Vegetarian and vegan. Both are possible with the pizzas as well as the sharing platter, provided they are passed on in advance with numbers.
Final numbers. No later than a week in advance. Packages are priced from ten people.
The schedule. If you are mooring at a restaurant, agree the departure time, the mooring time, the time ashore and the return trip with us beforehand. A dinner on the water with a schedule that doesn't add up is the only way this format goes wrong.
How to plan it
- Choose the format first: eating on board or mooring at a restaurant. That determines the duration and the price.
- If mooring: tell us which venue you have in mind, and we'll check whether it can be reached from the water.
- Book the restaurant yourself and pass the final times on to us.
- Pass on allergies, dietary requirements and numbers no later than a week in advance.
- Plan generously. Half an hour's leeway on the water is normal, certainly with thirty people getting on and off.

Frequently asked questions about dinner cruise in Zwolle
Can we eat on board during the cruise?
Yes. Fresh pizzas on board cost € 52,50 per person for an hour and a half and € 61,- for two hours, unlimited drinks included. A luxury sharing platter is available from € 49,50 per person. Bringing your own caterer is possible through private boat rental.
Can you moor at a restaurant in Zwolle?
Yes, if the venue sits on the water and there is a usable mooring spot. Tell us in your enquiry which restaurant you have in mind, and we'll let you know beforehand whether it is feasible. Allow a total cruising time of three to four hours and book the restaurant yourself.
Do you cater for allergies and vegetarians?
Yes, provided they are passed on with numbers no later than a week in advance. Vegetarian and vegan are possible with both the pizzas and the sharing platter. On the day itself it can no longer be adjusted.
How long does a dinner cruise take?
With food on board, an hour and a half to two hours is enough. If you moor at a restaurant, allow three to four hours: the cruise out, at least an hour and a half ashore and the cruise back, plus twice ten minutes for getting on and off.
Is there a kitchen on board?
No. Everything eaten on board arrives ready to serve. That is why pizzas and a sharing platter work well, and an elaborate multi-course dinner is only possible in combination with a restaurant ashore.
